John Portz is a professor and current chair of the Political Science Department at Northeastern University. He has a joint appointment in the School of Education. His teaching areas include public administration, public policy, and state and local government. His primary areas of research include education policy and leadership. John also is active in his home community of Watertown. He served as an elected member of the Town Council for eight years and now serves on the Watertown School Committee.

Michael Dukakis is a University Distinguished Professor at Northeastern University. He joined the faculty in the Political Science Department in 1991 and teaches courses in the areas of public administration, health policy, and leadership. Prior to coming to Northeastern, he served for twelve years as the governor of Massachusetts, and he was the 1988 presidential nominee of the Democratic Party.
